Ali's presence was also evident on television screens. She appeared in a variety of TV shows, including A Man Called Hawk, Wally and the Valentines, The Cosby Show, Getting By and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Kidz In the Wood, Living Single, In the House, and numerous others. Ali's first big project was when she introduced Ashley Banks to life on the hit TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the year 1990. Alongside the actor Will Smith, the series was a huge hit. It was one of the top shows on NBC and ranked 12th out of all shows between 1990 and 1992. Additionally, the show would later earn two sought-after Golden Globe nominations.
